Morning Routine

Let’s gooooooi! I said with a slightly raised voice one morning. Ok I will be honest-I yelled it. I was trying to get my nieces to school on time but it just wasn’t happening! Time was slipping away. That’s when I decided it was time to make a morning routine chart. The girls are now 6 and 8 and I think that is old enough to get ready for school on your own but some support is definitely needed. I find that many parents give that support by giving their kids verbal reminders through out the morning: “don’t forget to brush your teeth” “do you have your library book?” Although this is somewhat effective-it solely relies on the fact the YOU will remember everything for yourself, the house, your husband or significant other and your kids. This is bound to fail because one person cannot possibly hold every detail in her head. I know the school year is almost over but why don’t you try making a picture chart for your kids to refer to. I modified one that I found on Pinterest . Then I laminated it so they could write in any specific reminders for the week. You can find a copy of my chart here: link. Give this a try-at the end of the day you want your kids to be independent. This helps them along.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
